What’s next? That’s the question I’ve been asking myself for the better part of a month.

Today is my last day as part of the Digerati team at LifeChurch.tv. And it’s really sad. When I made the decision to move on, I knew the hardest part would be leaving the people and the culture that help make this organization an outlier. But dwelling on a difficult decision that’s already been made isn’t going to change the fact that it was the right decision.

Right now I have several options, all of which are exciting. Stepping back into consulting work for clients building interesting web and mobile apps is the most likely short term action. And that very well may be what I end up doing for a while if the right clients come along.

The possibility of launching a business with a friend is pretty alluring to me right now as well. He’s a go-getter, which means we’ll likely feed off of each other. And, on top of that, the business idea is solid. Very tempting.

I’ve interviewed at a couple companies that are looking for someone to do what I’ve been doing at YouVersion for the last couple years. That’s enticing for the simple fact that I love being able to focus on a single product or series of related products with a singular mission/goal. The products in question are incredibly unique and the companies are loved by their employees and their customers, but none are in Jacksonville where I live. So moving would have to be in the cards.

Finally, I’m working on a personal project that is really starting to get fun. It’s unlike anything I’ve done before, but it brings me back to some of my deepest interests in high school. Aside from making the big decisions in my life, this project occupies most of my thoughts throughout the day.

For those of you who were curious, this is what I’m mulling over during this transition. We’ll see what happens, and I’ll make sure to keep this site updated as necessary.
